Description of Positions:

Group Home Support Manager – Promotes community support for individuals with developmental disabilities, supervises the direct care staff assigned to his/her specific program. Managers oversee the day-to-day operations including fiscal matters, ensures that all program participants are cared for in a respectful and appropriate manner. On-call 24 hours a day. Bachelor’s degree or HS Diploma with one year supervisory experience in the human services field required.

Assistant Support Managers – Works mostly in conjunction with the Group Home Manager. Ensures consistent service delivery to the individuals assigned to his/her program. Assists in managing the direct care staff, monitoring their training needs, as well as overseeing the residential budget. On-call 24 hours a day. Bachelor’s degree or HS Diploma with one year experience in the human services field required.

Community Support Staff/Direct Care/Companions/CNA/Home Health Aides – Assists individuals with developmental disabilities with daily chores, medical appointments & recreational activities. Maintain a home-like environment within the group home ensuring the personalized attention required by each individual under their care.

Community Support Staff – Floater – Works a flexible schedule with a minimum of 24 hours per work week providing assistance to various programs on different shifts as directed by management.   In addition, floaters are required to be available for one (1) on call shift per work week, including up to  3 company observed holidays  at the discretion of the scheduler, Executive Director or his/her Designee.  Assists individuals with developmental disabilities with daily chores, medical appointments, and recreational activities.  Maintain a home-like environment within the group home ensuring the personalized attention required by each individual under their care.

Community Integration Staff – Facilitates community integration for individuals with developmental disabilities. Assists assigned program participants with pre-vocational, daily living, leisure, and community awareness. Collaborates with residential program to ensure consistent care of individuals being served. Ability to exercise good judgment, use common sense and remain calm in crisis situations a must.

Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – Provide direct nursing care to individuals with disabilities within a specific residential program. Administers medication and implements medically prescribed diets and exercise programs. Assists in training of direct care staff in health maintenance and medical treatments. Candidate must be a graduate of an accredited Nursing School, Licensed in the State of NJ with two years experience in the field of Community Health and/or Home Health Care.

Real Life Choices – This program is designed for direct care staff to work one-on-one with individuals with developmental disabilities.  The individual can choose services and activities that meet his/her specific needs and desires such as exploring community activities and social events including movies, shopping, dining out and more.  Flexible hours available.

Residential Counselors – Uses best practices and technology within an in-home setting to support and rehabilitate youth with co-occurring diagnoses. Plans and implement the treatment team’s interventions designed to assist youth to build skills needed live as independently as possible.

Our Newest Training Opportunity

Allies is an active participant in the pilot program that provides Certification for Direct Support Professionals. This initiative is funded by the NJ Council on Developmental Disabilities and provided through the Elizabeth M. Boggs Center on Developmental Disabilities. It provides an in-depth course study for the caring and committed individuals who work “hands-on” with people with disabilities in residential, employment, day program and other support service settings. They provide the day to day care that helps create a better quality of life in the community for the people we care about.

It is important to support the growth and stability of a professional direct support workforce so that the people with disabilities we serve have the assistance they need from caregivers who are known to them and understand their needs. Creating a strong, stable direct support workforce means offering DSPs the opportunity for growth, promotion, training, advancement, peer mentors, education and support.
